BlueEarth Micro From data logging to robotics, 8051 software development to industrial control, this Micro stands ready to tackle your measurement and control problems. Based on a highly integrated version of the world standard 8051 microcontroller family, the Micro-440e can add intelligence to a project with amazing ease.

The Micro-440e is based on the standard 8052-BASIC architecture, but supports many enhanced features. The BASIC interpreter (and assembly language debug monitor) are located in a 32K byte socketed EPROM. In addition, half of the code space (16K) can be used for non-volatile storage of assembly language or compiled BASIC programs.

Weighing in at just 2.5 ounces, the Micro-440e packs the following features into a space of only 7.2 square inches:

  • 12 MHz 80C51FA CPU
  • 12 digital I/O lines
  • 32K bytes of socketed EPROM
  • 32K bytes of RAM
  • 8-bit, 8 channel A/D converter
  • Full duplex serial ports (Dual RS-232)
  • Real time clock/calendar
  • On-board 5 volt regulator
  • Back-up battery (for the RAM and RTC)

And for those applications that require additional memory or more analog or digital I/O lines, BlueEarth offers several expansion modules that simply plug into the Micro's expansion port.

RESIDENT SOFTWARE

The Micro-440e features built-in BASIC and MONITOR-51 software for easy programming. All you need is a terminal or PC with a serial port. BASIC or assembly language programs can be interactively written or created with a text editor and then uploaded. Programs can be configured to run out of RAM or EPROM.

Our BlueEarth BASIC interpreter includes floating point arithmetic and supports over 120 commands, statements, and expression operators. Also included are the BASIC file commands SAVE, KILL, XFER and DIR.

The MONITOR-51 debug monitor can be used for writing and debugging assembly language programs. It supports multiple break points, single step execution, in-line assembly and disassembly, and Intel Hex file transfers.

Third party support software is available, including a symbolic debugger, BASIC development utilities, and a BASIC compiler that is 100% compatible with BlueEarth BASIC.

Getting started with the Micro-440e is surprisingly easy, thanks to the wide range of available hardware and software packages, standard and custom accessories, expansion modules, and third party software. Before you design your next controller project, see what a BlueEarth Micro can do for you. Feature for feature, the Micro-440e blows the chips off everything in its price range.
