DATA SHEET - Micro-440e

The Micro-440e's 80C51FA CPU is ideally suited for control applications and includes the following key features:

Micro-440e Block Diagram

DIGITAL I/O CAPABILITY: Standard I/O includes 12 TTL/CMOS compatible I/O lines. All I/O connections are made through a single 25-pin male D-sub connector.

SERIAL COMMUNICATIONS: Supports 2 Full-Duplex RS-232 serial channels. The primary port is taken from the CPU's UART and includes activity LEDs. The secondary port is software driven. The RS-232 driver has a low power shutdown feature that can be controlled by an on-board jumper and through software. The CMOS/TTL signals are available for using external RS-422 or RS-485 transceivers.

ANALOG SIGNAL INPUTS: The on-board 8 channel, 8-bit A/D can convert 0 - 5 volt input signals from various sensors in less than 40 microseconds. The inputs can operate as 8 single-ended or 4 differential channels. Seven of the channels are available on the I/O connector.

ON-BOARD POWER REGULATION: The Micro-440e can be powered from almost any 6 - 16 volt filtered DC supply capable of 75mA (40mA typical, 7mA in standby). The on-board regulator provides the system with 5 volts and includes a CPU reset feature. A lithium backup battery maintains RAM data and clock operation for 10+ years.

EPROM MEMORY: The resident BlueEarth BASIC and MONITOR-51 programs are contained in the lower half of the on-board 32K CMOS EPROM. The Micro-440e can also be configured to access the upper half of the EPROM for added code storage.

TIMEKEEPING MODULE: Time and date based operations are managed by the battery backed clock/calendar module. It features a 12/24 hour format, automatic leap year setting, and interrupt output capability with periods ranging from 1/64 second through one hour.

NONVOLATILE RAM MEMORY: 32K bytes of battery backed CMOS RAM can be used to store user programs (BASIC and/or assembly language), system parameters, and collected data. A RAM write protect feature can be used with BASIC file commands to "Lock in" autoexecuted programs.

EXPANSION PORT: A 25-pin male D-sub connector can accept a variety of accessories including I/O, memory, and 12-bit A/D expansion modules. A prototyping module is also available.

Case dimensions, not including connectors: 2.44" W x 2.94" H x 0.75" D.
