DATA SHEET - Micro-440e Expansion Modules

Each expansion module is housed in a protective plastic case similar to the Micro-440e. Application information, including a disk, is provided with each expansion module order.

I/O-24 EXPANSION MODULE: The I/O-24 module is available with various combinations of output only and TTL/CMOS compatible I/O lines. Lines that are only used for high current output type applications will have a 0.6 amp rated MOSFET transistor installed that can switch loads up to 60 volts. Other general purpose I/O lines will have a 330 ohm series protection resistor installed.

Our standard model is configured with 12 lines of each type and can be readily interfaced to common dot matrix LCD modules and 4x4 keypads with extra lines available for other purposes. Two other available models include either all resistors or all MOSFET transistors. We can also build other custom combinations for a nominal charge.

The I/O-24 module includes a 5 volt regulator capable of supplying up to 0.5 amps of current. The standard model also includes a small trimpot that can be used to adjust the contrast on an LCD module.

MEMORY EXPANSION MODULE: The Memory expansion module is available without memory or with various 28 or 32 pin memory devices installed, including 32Kx8 or 128Kx8 SRAM, and 8Kx8 or 32Kx8 EEPROM. It also accepts 8Kx8, 32Kx8, 64Kx8, or 128Kx8 EPROM devices and 32Kx8, 64Kx8, or 128Kx8 FLASH devices.

A 190 mAHr lithium backup battery option is available individually or installed with either of the SRAM options to provide non-volatile storage.

Memory is accessed as a 16K byte block in the upper half of the address space to allow room for other peripherals to be addressed. Only one memory module may be connected to a Micro-440e.

The memory module includes its own 5 volt regulator and also has a write disable feature to protect RAM contents.

ACCESSORIES: If you need to connect more than one expansion module to a Micro-440e, ribbon cables can be purchased for adding two or three modules. Other available accessories include various dot matrix LCD modules and 4x4 keypads.
