Update Notice:

The Xplor Series controllers have been updated. Refer to the Xplor-52 Series PDC Product Update for more information.

The Xplor PDCs (Personal Digital Controllers) are the "mini-sports" of the BlueEarth line. They emphasize value along with a quick learning curve that will have you zipping from idea to finished project in record time - a major advantage for the student just starting out or the engineer concerned about productivity. Xplor PDCs also offer a number of unique features not typically found in the subcompact price range. The various models offer progressively more advanced capabilities.

Xplor-52, -52a, -52d - These entry-level models include the same Xplor standard features: an 80C52 compatible (8051 family) CPU with TB52 and utilities in ROM, 8K bytes of EEPROM memory for program storage, 5 volt regulator, socketed ICs, and a PC compatible communication/programming port. Other common features include a D-sub I/O connector and an I/O socket block for adding transistors, capacitors and protection resistors (resistors are included). The Xplor-52a adds an 11 channel, 10-bit ADC, and the Xplor-52d adds 24 additional digital I/O lines.

Xplor-52u, -52ua - These Xplor Series PDCs are the "User Interface Specialists." The standard Xplor PDC architecture is complemented by support for a character type LCD module and matrix keypad interface that doesn't use any of the controller's standard I/O lines. Connectors for an LCD module and 4x4 matrix keypad are provided on the back of the circuit board. The Xplor-52ua adds analog input capabilities to the Xplor-52u

Xplor-52i - The Xplor-52i takes the core Xplor-52 features and adds capabilities designed for industrial monitoring and control applications. Its 12 I/O channels are configured as 6 optically isolated inputs and 6 relay outputs, which also eliminates the need for an I/O socket block. The standard Xplor-52 capabilities are further enhanced with a much heftier 5 volt regulator and an RS-422 serial port that can also be used with an RS-232 port or wired as RS-485. Other features include a power LED, reset switch, power supply jack, and screw terminals for input power and all I/O connections.
