The Xplor Series PDCs listed below are the "User Interface Specialists." The standard Xplor PDC architecture is complemented by support for a character type LCD module and matrix keypad interface that doesn't use any of the controller's standard I/O lines. Connectors for an LCD module and 4x4 matrix keypad are provided on the back of the circuit board.
The Xplor-52u includes all of the common Xplor Series PDC features (89C52 CPU with TB52, 12 digital I/O, 5 volt regulator, 8K EEPROM, communication/programming port) along with a power jack, enhanced I/O socket block, and screw terminals. Additional features include reset and on/off switches. I/O connections are provided through screw terminals or an optional right-angle IDC-type connector. A 9 pin D-sub serial port connector is also standard. Board Dimensions: 3.49" x 6.04"
The Xplor-52ua adds the analog capabilities of the Xplor-52a (11 channel, 10-bit A/D converter) to the Xplor-52u. It includes circuitry to support an on-board temperature sensor, as well as reset and on/off switches. It is shown here with the case, keypad, and LCD removed. Board Dimensions: 3.49" x 6.04"
The Xplor-52u and Xplor-52ua have several options, including on-board "AA" battery operation and a 64K-bit serial EEPROM for storing display messages, configuration data, analog readings, etc. Both the Xplor-52u and Xplor-52ua can be purchased as a board-only version or mounted in a plastic case equipped with a standard 2 line by 16 character LCD module and 4x4 matrix keypad. The library routines included with TB52 allow you to access the LCD and keypad from your BASIC or assembly language program. Completing your project is as simple as wiring up your application and writing your control program. And we can even do that for you too, if you wish. Count on BlueEarth to provide you with either a controller board that you can design into your project or a complete turnkey solution.
